Re: CSR important info

Wow! What an a**!!! I bet the rep was just looking out for his/her commission. I would call up and have the inquiry removed if you dont get approved, assuming you only applied becuase you were told you were prequal'd.

I'll pm it to you for the link, dunno if I can post it here, But he was a CPC, not sure how much that actually has to do with it when there's lots of other approvals with 20+ cards without CPC, or me w 8/24 and not the world's greatest profile. Can I post the Reddit link here mods? Is that allowed?

One of my biggest issues is that I might be very close to my internal limit with Chase.  Already have $85K with them and while I would have no issue just closing out my CSP and transferring my limit to a new CSR I think that my number of accounts in last two years would stop them from even considering the option.  Guess I'll just have to find out eventually.

If you do decide to go in branch and apply, make sure they run the pre-approval again / go off the pre-approval.

If you just go in and ask to apply, they will submit a normal application, possibly without the pre-approval, and since you over 5/24 it would auto-deny.

Main Cards: CSR(30k), DiscoverIT(50k), Freedom(10.5k), Ink+(17k), SallieMae(17.5k), 3x BoA MLB(24k), 2x BoA BBR(16k) and probably too many other cards at this point...

Re: CSR important info

Are the pre-quals at a branch different than pre-quals online? ex: If showing pre-qual in branch, does it show online as well? and vice versa..

Sorry for silly question Smiley Happy Not too familiar with Chase yet

Re: CSR important info

Yes Scupra they appear to be different. There are reports of no online preapprovals and then preapprovals in branch.

Re: CSR important info

Oh I'm mad veg. Very mad. No way I'll be approved for it. Zero chance. It already says 7-10, and there's no way to bypass 5/24 without the prequal. I'm going to another bank on my lunch(which I didn't wanna do) just to see if the prequal IS there.

Bank will always show more prequal if any, in branch is king.

But yes make sure they run the prequal. The guy never took my Id or card this time so I bet he didn't do the prequal, no banker I've ever spoke to(about 6 in branch since 5/24 was put in) has any idea of what that even means. They think 5 is alot of cards, which to some people sure. But realistically, I feel like that's about the right amount to have overall. Maybe not in 2 years, but I don't know if I'll ever be apping for cards ever again(unless something else pops up like the reserve)

Re: CSR important info

Trying to determine feasibility here..

Currently have a CSP with $8500 CL and as a frequent traveler for work, am considering CSR. Would I be able to app for a new CSR, spend the $4K in 3 mo and receive the 100K bonus points, and then combine CLs from CSP to CSR, and then close the CSP account? Doesn't make sense for me to have both since having both would negate each other. Obtaining the bonus points and combining CLs is the goal here. Do not want both CSR and CSP.

Welcome to MyFico.

Yes you can do exactlyl that though you don't need to wait until you meet the bonus to close the CSP.  You can do that as soon as you're approved for the CSR and they'll combine the limits.  You're competelyly correct that you do not need to have both.  Another option that you have, depending on other Chase cards that you have, is to product change the CSP to either a Freedom or Freedm Unlimited to give you more Chase UR points earning power.
