CU alternative to NFCU?

For those like myself who can't get into NFCU and take advantage of their CCs, is there any other CU out there being generous right now on approval and decent starting limits?

Re: CU alternative to NFCU?

If there was you can expect that the myFICO effect would kill the deal.  Take a look at prior CU's that were popular with myFICO for those reasons.

That said, there are plenty of CU's that may offer higher limits than other card issuing creditors but we can't provide an exhaustive list.

I imagine so, I was hoping to find the beginning part of a trend instead of not finding out about it until it's too late, like I did with Nasa, etc.

Re: CU alternative to NFCU?

I think the closest you can get to NFCU like generous underwriting right now is the Capital One Venture.  If you have scores in the 680+ range that may be your chance at a generous limit.

The generous cards like Diners, NASA or the Duck have pretty much dried up.

That TU score is gonna kill the deal though as far as a Venture goes.

Re: CU alternative to NFCU?

There's also the AMEX 3X CLI thingie that can very quickly get you into "generous" territory...I recently hit the 25K mark with them using that method.

Since I also missed the NASA shuttle, NFCU/AMEX/CapOne were my express tickets into 15K+ cards.
