Unless you do a lot of traveling, I think the Zync is much better... I spend most of my money at dining out, so 2x on Zync is way better... I think the only better card for me might be Costco but I cant PC into that, so Zync it is! I PC from Green
Personally for me Zync is an ideal card, the reason I wanted the upgrade because my brother asked if he can join as an AU( He travels for business). That's when I thought about all the points that I can be accumulating, but Zync doesn't offer what Gold does.

Depending how much he spends on travel, you would benefit further by applying for a whole new card because of the big bonus' when you hit spending levels, or am I confusing it with the Gold for business?!
oops I might be, I got the gold business when they offered I think 10k points after 10k of spending and 25k points after 50k spending each year... This will be the first year that I don't hit those spending areas

His credit is not great, because of previous foreclosure. He does travel on a monthly basis, not exactly sure about his finance though.
Thanks for informing about the two different reward options.
When I first app for the Zync, I thought they atleast offer airline pts but they don't (I'm dissapointed there). Nothing to complain about, I'm in the AMEX family & the Zync helped me for the Blue Cash Approval.
I probably don't qualify for the rewards just yet, but I will add an AU on the Blue Cash for my bro.
oh yes, I always forget that Zync gets the express program becuase the first Amex I got was Optima Platinum and that automatically gets me the full rewards program on all cards that get membership rewards. Still not sure I understand the difference anyway. lol
Yea... I just wish AMEX categorized their Zync rewards along with all their charge cards.

Does your Blue Cash not get you the regular membership rewards? If so then you can call Amex and they will link your Zync to your Blue and then it will earn the regular reward program

Actually this whole issue was before my Blue Cash approval, but I decided to post the issue yesterday. I'm not really complaining anymore because I got approved last week, I'm satisfied that I can get the regular rewards now & not have to pay an annual fee.
Most cards offer benefits than AMEX Zync rewards without an annual fee.
I thought you couldn't upgrade in the first year?
Something about the new credit law and the annual fee going up before 12 months...
Maybe I am wrong.
I have the Gold and they give me Platinum pre-approvals like once a week! I'm not biting though, $450 a year is steep!

you can't upgrade for a year, from what I have heard.
