For situation like multiple Amex you might find people who have a platinum card (high annual fee) but they don't really spend money on that card. They just use it for airline credits, airport lounge access, etc. but they might have other Amex cards as well (spg, everyday preferred, etc) that they use for actually putting charges on.
Also to setup your signature you can go to "My Settings" then personal info and you can at least put in a text signature (like I have) or if you want to put the pictures in you can look into doing that as well.
Even from a different bank. My second Quicksilver was once a Household Bank toy card, Cap1 bought the accounts apparently.

Yes.. I've heard of that.
I have two Quicksilver cards; the MasterCard started off years ago as a HSBC 'Platinum' MasterCard and I got the Quicksilver Visa Signature last spring.
They are eligible to be combined, but I choose to keep them separate because they have different features. The MasterCard has the better APR (15.15%) and the balance transfer option on it has no fee, but there's no 0% APR promo, either. On the other hand, the QS Visa Signature card has an APR of 18.15%, and the balance transfer offer for it is 0% for 12 months, but with a 3% fee.
Since both balance transfer options can be useful depending on the specific need at the time, I have chosen to keep the cards separate. I'll also add that at nine years old, the QS MasterCard is one of my older accounts, so I prefer to keep it open for the history as well.
As for putting pictures in your signature, here's a link to a thread that has some pretty good instructions:
Are the first 2 cards the same amex cards
I can't tell...seem to be different colors
If they are the same....you did it because you get double the benefits?l
