I wonder if it can be pc'd to sm?
Don't think so. SM is cobranded. I've never heard of PCing to/from it (perhaps maybe to/from the Upromise but that's it).

That's what I figured...looks like it'll be ring if the rumors are true
I'd argue that despite lack of rewards, Ring is a more worthwhile PC than the normal Arrival for sure!

But why spend 40k on this to justify it instead of just getting a free alternative? Theres nothing worse about a double cash and you can use it for travel if you want.
Alas. Youre right. Ive made my point.
No FTF, Chip&Pin. Show me the free alternative that offers both of those.
I'll be SD and using it for balance transfers when needed. No point in applying for a BT card when both Barclays and my Amazon Visa offers them all the time.
Glad I closed mine on Monday now and moved the CL to my Aviator.
oh balls, I was going to apply for arrival plus in august. ![]()

The question is, how much are they worth (especially as it isn't real chip&pin). Fid Amex has a 1% fee, so you need around $8k of foreign transactions to offset the AF, or $12K with QS (which has no AF but less rewards)
The $40k spend required to make the Arrival+ more lucrative than the DC is small potatoes for serious travelers (of course the $400 sign-on bonus blows DC out of the water). If the bonus is reduced to 5%, then the $80k spend threshold would definitely be tougher to meet. I fall somewhere in the gap there I think. I spend about $4-5k per month on work travel, and $2-4k per month on personal expenses.
For me, the Arrival+ with 10% bonus is a no brainer, and I was planning to apply in about 2 weeks when I exit the garden. With 5% bonus it's a lot less clear because some of my spend goes to other cards (like SM, Amazon store card) so I think overall I'd be right around the $80k annual spend on a general use card. Still worth it if they keep the 40k points sign-on bonus, but otherwise probably a wash for me. For true road warriors I think it's still a no-brainer if you like cash back.
Maybe they are reconfiguring to add some other perks like the Citi Premier did recently. Doesn't have to be all negative thoughts does it?
Try this link. It works just fine when I go to my cc site.
