I was preapproved for the Venture before I applied for it, but other than that I have had no real online preapprovals (cardmatch has several offers, but I think it's mostly marketing.)
I feel your pain though. If you're one of the unlucky ones who never seems to get preapprovals, all you can do is cold app and hope for the best.

+1 same here.. No where.
Even with my great scores I am never preapproved (I've also never been declined). I vaguely recall my husband signing us both up to "Opt out" years ago...I assume that's why and suspect maybe that is the case for you

I am optioned in and still get nothing with most lenders. (excet SCT from Comenity and Synch) For me it is the address format - different spelling of street name can every once in a while result in an offer
But all my cold apps got approved.

You should learn to assess you own credit and not rely on prequals. They don't guarantee anything either way.
Obv this is a YMMV. I have tried those sites and never gotten a pre-approval yet have been fortunate with instant approvals for all my apps since 11/2014.
What's your util? I had scores like yours and couldn't get any pre-approvals. I paid down my util to < 30% and finally started getting pre-approvals.
@Nismotony: Congrats on your approvals!! Penfed approved you with BK?? That is awesome. My BK is 6 years old but when I applied last year they denied me due to the BK7. Do you have any other relationship with them besides being a member and a credit card?
