My personal belief is that you're in a great position...first thought that comes to mind is, why do you want the Lowes and Care Credit cards?
If it's to use the promo's, I understand...but I assume that you have some good promo's currently with the cards that you have. You have a great lineup of cards that will grow--which can be done without any HP's. Adding 2 more store cards wouldn't be your best move in my opinion. In my experience, Synchrony is quite suspect at the moment. I personally grabbed a couple of cards from them the end of last year, because of their reputation for growth. However, things change and this hasn't been easy to achieve...especially during this pandemic. There are some other issues with Synch in my opinion as well.
My 2 cents is: start working on removing the baddies...then garden and grow. BofA is beginning to loosen up again and you should have plently of opportunity to get CLI's moving forward. If you haven't been doing so already, use that luv button they offer--you should see it every 90 days or so. BofA has been good to me.
I appreciate the perspective here.
Mod cut - not here. I've had them for YEARS and they recently lowered all my limits for no reason. No changed behavior, nothing bad on my credit, etc. And they never tell me the reason. They just say "we did an overview and decided to lower it". Maybe they don't like me because I don't always carry a balance?? Lmao. Either way they're jerks. I had a $500 limit with a Chevron card with them and they lowered me to $250... And I used that card daily and paid it often enough to where the payment would always post like next day. Now they even make my payments take longer to post too! And I've never had a returned payment or any issue, and again I've had this card for literally years at the same $500 limit.
Makes me wonder what's really going on. Maybe from covid they're losing money and are afraid of accepting new people as well as having high limits? What's even weirder is I applied for another Synchrony product about a month after they lowered my limit (and my score dipped) and they freaking approved me for $1,000 😡 yet won't let me raise my limit and even lowered my limits on other synchrony cards. Makes no **bleep** sense.
I also got approved for PayPal Credit for $500 just a couple weeks ago after I got denied just a couple days before on a Chevron credit card increase...

I used to have that chevron card which I got for the SUB and and closed it. No need for a high CL on it since it's a gas card. After the SUB (40 cents a gallon discount for the 1st 90 days) the card lost all its value because it only gave 3 cents a gallon statement credit after that which is less than a 1.5% cash back card could give.
I still have it because it gives you better pricing at some stations, sometimes $0.10-$0.20 off
Also the $0.03 is still some kind of money off lol. Anything is better then nothing especially with how much money we spend per month on just gas...
Also anytime you close a credit card, that'll hurt you more then just leaving it open... in my experience.... Sometimes dinging you over 50 points for closing it
Hi, i have no luck with sync but i burned them for 4k in bk7 12/2019.
just a note about outstanding medical bills. try and make arrangements to pay on installments before it gets to the collection stage. you would be surprised how low of a monthly payment most medical providers will accepy vs the bill collection route.
I just paid off a medical bill at 15 bucks per month
