What is your TOTAL Credit Card Debt & TOTAL Monthly Payments?
I posted it on the first page. It is $38,695.32. If I were to pay the minimums for each card it would be approx $600 each month. So add that to our total expensives $3385 + $600 = 3,985 leaving us with $500-600 a month to put down on one of the cards.
I would CONSOLIDATE
Look into a Credit Card Balance Transfer (Like NASA FCU) (lots of talk on the board for this right now) Its a soft pull.. so go ahead and try...
What is your FICO like?
They take into account the balances you are looking to transfer....
We put 30K on the card... at 7.9 APR we will be debt free in 60 Months @ 575/month

its in my lease as well and I still have two renters renting my two rooms.
My landlords literally live next door. There is no way I could have someone move in and them not know about it. My brother came to stay with us for a month and they questioned that.

FICO is 673.
I used Mint.com and whatsthecost.com to calcuate how long it would take to pay the debt off and it says 38 months.
For a payoff at 60 months, do mind if I ask how much you have to pay off?
Pretend you don't have the GI Bill Right Now...
Can you pay your minimums without it? (id throw that into savings.... and don't touch it... you can use it for payments later on)
PEN FED has a 48 Month 4.99% Balance Transfer on their cards
NASA FCU has 7.9% for life....
When getting approvals... you will prob get denied due to excessive obligations... call recon and tell them you want to balance transfer (they will remove the debt from the debt to income calc.) and contingent approval if you balance transfer....
also they DID NOT make us close our accounts....
Remember your minimums will drop if you keep fixed payments (like 600/month)... so in a year in a half you can drop to 400/mo if you absolutely have to
ALSO.... what are the LIMITS of the cards you have debt with? Are they all MAXED?

60 Months
30K in credit card debt @ 7.9%
575/month for payments (total interest 6K)
Worth it...less hair pulling ... one card to worry about and one payment... low interest

2 collections (paid) 2 years old... and 30 day late from 1 year ago
Also have a mortg. payment of 1450
and income of 6030/month
needed taxes etc...
Oh man. You have a little less to pay off than myself, but longer payment time. Probably means my payoff time in reality, will be longer then that.

The GI bill accounts for about $1100 of our income.
Is there a specific reconsideration department you call, or just call the main? If you apply through the website for debt consolidation is that the same thing, or are you applying for a line of credit? I will have to run the calculater and see what it would save me.
