Cant get in with comenity

hi all

My scores are all at about 600 right now with transunion being 608. I still can get a comenity card even though i do have a couple of secured cards and have ben trying to keep utilization low at 9%. Should i try to open a secured card with overstock and try to get in with them that way? Any advice is appreciated.

the overstock secured card is issued through First National Bank of Omaha, not comenity. Its confusing to see 3 types of cards but only the Overstock.com store card is comenity. You have cold apped for this card and get approved for it?

The rewards arent that great either

Havent cold apped but i tried others like express. Not sure which one i would have the best chance to get approved for and dont want to waste hp.

Hmm I was approved for the following with all scores under 600:

express

marathon

buckle

sports authority

limits range from 200-500

That's what I like about the SCT. If I don't get the pre-approved popup I don't risk a HP on my credit.

My thought is when they want to approve it they will serve the popup.

Don't just toss solutions at problems.  What are the denial reason(s) that they have provided in the past?

No, either you qualify or you don't.  If they have denied you in past then you need to address their concerns with your credit profile -- same as with any creditor.

Unfortunately with some profiles, the only real solution is time.  Trying to cold app, or getting inqs without new accounts is actually detrimental.

With some profiles, the best thing to do is wait a few months and see if your score improves.

+1. I would considert it more of an albatross around the neck (or a heavy millstone around the neck) to be "in" with Comenity than to not be.
