Hi guys - I've been lurking on this site for many months, it has been so helpful in helping me to work on repairing my credit.
I have a weird questions. I applied for a Cap 1 CLI and I was denied by Cap 1 because they said my credit score was too low. It says it was 479 and that they used Equifax. Well, I monitor my scored thru this site - and my Equifax score is 619. How could there be such a difference? Do i need to order a specific score from Equifax?
Its likely they used a previous pull they had on file, rather than a new updated report.
When you get the letter, it should be pretty clear about the date of the report they used to get the score.

Says he applied for a CLI.
I've had the same thing happen to me (different card) where they used a soft pull from several months previous that occured during a dip in my score. Sounded familiar to what he had going on.
Dan
like someone else mentioned, it is an older score from the last soft pull and they are using FICO 04 EQUIFAX.
That's exactly what happened. They used a score from early January which was much lower. i don't get why they wouldn't use a new one. I guess I just thought they would run the score on their own.
Welcome to myFICO!
