Cap 1 CLI

I tried the luv button today on my QS1 and was approved but only for $250. Is it worth accepting? Or should I wait a bit to see if I can get more in a month or so?

Re: Cap 1 CLI

I was once offered $200 (which I accepted) then six months later when I tried again I got $1k.

It's not always guaranteed you'll get more by waiting, which I why generally I prefer to take what they offer and 'reset' the clock for my next CLI.

That's just me, though.

Re: Cap 1 CLI

I'm not that familiar with the Cap1 GUI, so where exactly does one find the GUI?  If I get an answer soon enough, I am in the mood to do it on 2 accounts and possibly report data points.   Thank you for your support.

Once logged into your Capital One account, click on "Services" (upper right hand corner), then click on "More..." (very bottom of list)

On the next screen under card services, you'll find "Request Credit Line Increase".  For me, it's the next to last option.

If you have more than one card, it will ask you to choose which card you want to request the CLI on, and from there it's pretty self-explanatory.  It's a soft pull, and you can request a CLI with them six months after your last CLI (if you are too early, they'll just mail you a letter stating such, it doesn't reset the clock or anything).

Some folks will decline a small-ish offer in the hopes that in a few weeks/months the offer will "improve"... that's a personal preference thing.  I've taken one as small as $200, but lately they've been consistently offering me $1k on my QS1 (surprising since it's almost never used) and my only CLI on my QS Visa was $2k; I'll be eligible again in two weeks, and I'm hopeful for $1k on it as well.  (I don't use either card too often, but it's always 'nice' when an issuer shows 'luv'... LOL)

Good luck!

Re: Cap 1 CLI

Unless you desperately need the additional $250...I'd wait to see if you can get something higher.  Even if you don't get anything soon or the $250 goes away...it's not worth resetting your 6 month clock for $250...again, unless you really need it.

THANK YOU BROTHER! (sure, many people could have answered that, but you were the only person who DID!)

So on my $1000 QS1, I was approved to $3000!  I've has it about exactly 2 months, so I am a bit surprised.  I dont think my major Synchrony increaes from 10 hours ago were even available.  My first Synch CLIs(after many denials) and now my first regular CLI increase.....and I believe this should help my score, and maybe start a snowball effect to some extent, even if in slow mo?  I had  a $189 balance on the card, if anyone wants that for a data point!

Ok, card 2....  QS $3000, got within a day or 2 of QS1, but didnt use for quite some time, so maybe a statement less?!  $630 balance.  Unfortunately(???), this is the message I got.  Is this a denial?  Maybe a too early(hopefully!) and that I haven't wasted my pull and caused a reset?   Thanks again for your understanding, patience, and help!! Smiley Happy

Congrats on the awesome increase!  screamer.gif

On your QS card, they will send you a letter detailing why the increase wasn't available... the most common reason around here is folks trying to soon.  If you want, just check the "Online Document Center" in a day or so and the letter will be there as well (as in, an exact digital copy).

Also, no worries about resetting the clock... if you were just a few days/weeks early, nothing is reset so you will still be eligible when you would have been had you never tried.  Also, it's only a soft-pull even when the CLI is approved, so it's truly 'no harm done'.  Smiley Wink

Again, huge congrats!
