I have been trying to combine my 2 QS1's into one card but I keep getting denied. Card to be closed has 0 balance and is 7 months old. Card to combine into is over a yr old with $65 balance on a $1900 limit. I combined my platinum into this one 6 or 8 months ago. Never had a late payment. Anyone else had issues with this or may know why? Cap One chat was no help. Will probably call tomorrow or Sat but was curious if anyone else had this happen. Thanks.
Based off what you have said, you should be able to combine; looks like the cards meet what Cap1 lists as requirements.
You can find plenty of people here that have had similar trouble, for whatever reason it takes time to combine sometimes. Cap1 chat, or even calling I would imagine, is completely unhelpful though
Hope it works out. I'm planning a combination this summer - I want to merge my old QS MC (upgraded from Platinum, and likely a "starter") into my new QS Visa Signature which will have hit the 6-month age mark by then. The MC will be at zero when combine time comes.
Are you able to combine QS MC that was PCd from Platinum into a QS Visa? My wife has a QS MC PCd from platinum and is qualified for a QS Visa but didnt want to app for it if it isnt able to combine the MC to the Visa.
nairb, shouldn't matter if its MC to Visa. if accounts are eligible, they normally will, but I have seen a few people having trouble getting this done
About 20 years ago when I did my first CapOne account combination, you couldn't combine cards across different networks. Fast forward to about 2 years ago and I was able to combine both V and MC cards (CapOne bought some of my old lenders) into one MasterCard and then did a product change to VentureOne.
You shouldn't have any problem. I combined my QS1 to QS last month via online without any issue with only 2-3 clicks. I had both accounts for over 1,5 years. Today I just PC my QS to SAVOR. I'm very excited because of 3% cash back for dining.
I don't mean to steal your thread, but do you have to wait 6 months when combining cards? I have three Capital One cards and I would like to combine to one card.
So, six months later with zero balance on both cards and I still can't combine. Never late, both well over six months old.... I can only come up with two possible reasons and they may not have anything at all to do with it...
1. First QS1 had $750 combined to it from a platinum card. or
2. I can't combine two cards with an AF?.?.?
Other than those two things that are not mentioned in the requirements, I meet all of them but I'm sure someone here can counter those two reasons.
Anyway, just a follow up and also looking for anyone who may have some more input.
Thanks!
