I have been trying to combine my 2 QS1's into one card but I keep getting denied.  Card to be closed has 0 balance and is 7 months old.  Card to combine into is over a yr old with $65 balance on a $1900 limit.  I combined my platinum into this one 6 or 8 months ago.  Never had a late payment.  Anyone else had issues with this or may know why?  Cap One chat was no help.  Will probably call tomorrow or Sat but was curious if anyone else had this happen.  Thanks.

Has the card you want to combine had a zero balance with no activity at all for 30 days? The last time I combined their cards they made me wait before the combination could be processed. You also might think about talking CSR before combining to make sure the rewards you've accrued make it over to the new card as they wont transfer on their own during the combination.

Re: Cap 1 Combination

I've got a QS1 that's been at a $0 for a year. Always PIF before statement cuts. Can't get them to combine it with my QS.

No explanation. I may end up closing the account and apping for a new card.

Re: Cap 1 Combination

The card Im trying to combine has had a zero balance for months until this month when the AF hit but I paid that in full. Ive tried probably once a month and nothing. I dont have any rewards on this one so there is no worry there. I contacted customer care a few months ago and the guy i spoke with said he could only try to combine using the internet the same way i did and if it didnt work for me then it wouldnt work for him. He also said that he couldnt give me a reason why it wouldnt work but that Cap1 has other requirements that arent listed that i may not meet. I really think that he was just feeding me a line because he had no clue. Im thinking along the same line as egold1234 and may close the card. I would like to combine and have both limits in one but its looking like that wont happen.
