Cap 1 Pre Approval - A Bit Odd To Receive This...

I had one ages ago and I believe it was charged off. I attempted to apply in May (probably for a higher end one) and was turned down. I assumed that was why I was turned down. So, is there a chance that they do not have an Amex long term memory or is this just a cruel trick to get me to waste a hard pull and be laughed at?

they forgive 1 I think.
I had one in my original bk 7, they were one of the first banks to offer me not 1, but 2 cards after that bk!!!

Interesting. My EQ is near 640 and 600 for Ex/TU and that's before my cc companies reported my balance reduction (have yet to update this month, the payments I made)
and CJ hasn't reported yet.

Maybe, MAYBE if I hit 640+ for all 3 I'll consider it but I worry it's another $300 cc. The limit is 'up to $1k' and I just have a bad feeling about it.

You can see DH's scores in my siggie. He was approved for $1K. We also DID have a CO with them about 5 years ago, paid immediately after CO (for whatever that might be worth).

They forgive pretty quickly. Have a paid co w/them and they gave me a new card for $3k (less than year and half since co!).

Re: Cap 1 Pre Approval - A Bit Odd To Receive This...

Thanks, guys!

I'm tempted to give it a shot but thanks to Orchard Bank, they didn't honor the promise to report my $200 payment on 7/31. Instead, they reported on 7/31 (as I knew they would) and overlooked it entirely Smiley Happy

So I will have to wait at least a month to have my util down to where it needs to be. Of course, by Nov. one of my cards is a year old and a 7 year old 'late' gets removed. Maybe I should wait until then. It would also be 6 months since my last inquiries.
