Cap 1 Product Change

Does anyone know if Cap 1 will do a PC? I have the plain Platinum Mastercard, and their website is suggesting I'm pre qualified for the No Hassle Cash Rewards with a lower rate. I don't want to open a new account right now as I have enough and I'm in gardening mode, but this would be a better deal for me.

Thank you in advance

Mike

I think you have a better chance of becoming the next President of the United States.

I do Wish you the Best of Luck tho.

Last month in an attempt to ask for a CLI, I spoek to a supervisor who confrmed to me that PC is not possible. You have to apply for the card you want and take the 3 HP

This would need a Constitutional Amendment as I'm English. The Amendment will probably still be easier to get than a Cap1 PC or CLI though.

Thanks again

I had to wait patiently to get a PC from my Platinum MC.  They switched it out to a VentureOne rewards card after 4 years.

I would recommend not asking Cap1 for anything, odds are they'l' say they can do it and a day later "oh im sorry it ='s not oor policy". Imcompetance id=s amazing there.

In most cases you are right, but you will see (rare) posts here from Members who have had success with PC and/or CLI's, but they are very few and far between.

Cap1 has a rather odd way of doing business, IME, they would rather lose a cardholder than go above and beyond (like other Prime CCC's do) and dish out a CLI every once in a while to cardholders with a flawless history.

Now this is on the sub-prime side of Cap1, I have no idea what the Prime side of Cap1 is like, and I never will, unless Cap1 offers me an upgrade before I close their cards out in June and Sep of this year.

Thanks Mike,

Happy Holidays.

Re: Cap 1 Product Change

When i called to close my $500 CL Platinum wit hthe $60AF, they could have offered me a PC but nope they didnt care.

Fast forward to yesterday, I get a call from Cap One offering me to apply for the Venture. It wasnt even a pre-approval. According to them I'm a valued customer; seriously?

So yet another odd way of doing business from Cap One.

I wouldnt even take one even if Alec Baldwin himself handed me one Smiley Happy
