I routinely use more than my $500 CL every month, and I do that by paying in full multiple times per billing cycle. How much more usage do they want?
My statements consistently look something like:
Credit Line: $500
Previous Balance $5
Charges: $800
Payments: $796
New Balance: $9
Yes, it is a computer making the decisions. That's kind of the problem. There needs to be some room for a human being to eyeball a cardholder's account hostory and CR and say "OK, let's give this person another $1K."

I would have to agree with you on this. A human being taking part in this process would give us all a little less anxiety. But I have nothing to complain about in regards to Cap1 at this point. I have been given pretty good customer service when I call the backdoor number and will call that number before I use the one on the back of my 2 cards.

Lando,  my CL increases have been pretty small.  I started out with a $750 limit last Mar.  After completing the "capital steps" program and calling to remind them, they raised my limit to $1250.  I called the backdoor number once again, and they gave me a meager $300, thus bringing my limit to its present amount of $1550.  In another month or so, I'll be calling again for more luv.

Keep up the good work, lurknomore.  For some of us it takes more time than others to build up our credit on certain cards.  Being patient is tough.  Hang in there with Cap1 until they give you a reason not to hang in there with them anymore.

I'm just curious because I got my C1 in 2004 with a cl of $5000... it is a Visa Platinum (just the basic card i.e. no rewards) but they don't offer this card as a new card anymore.  They have the Classic Platinums but they are all MC and the Visa rewards cards.  I also have a Cash rewards card with a cl of $500.  Anyone know if I can combine the two... ultimately I would love to combine into my Visa Platinum for my longest history but ALSO make it the rewards card... is this possible?!

Wait until you get a CLI on the cash rewards- then combine

Given that you are likly at the top of the tier you are in- Capone will need to change the card internally-

Ask for the world with Cap one- and see what they offer-

When I combined- I combined CL(newer card had higher CL) , took the lower APR(newer card had lower APR) and the no AF(old card had the no AF).
