Cap 1 recon

Has anybody had luck with a Cap 1 recon through the FaceBook chat? I have had there secured card since early 2012. It does have a 30-60-90 day late from Jun-Jul-Aug 2013, but they are working on removing those due to there mistake. I applied for a Quicksilver for average credit and was instantly denied. My score they pulled is around a 590. I have 3 other credit cards never late that are currently showing high balances due to statement not cutting yet and updating the lower balances. I have a Charge off from Jul 2013 and a collection from Jul 2013 as well. A student loan never late opened in 2007 and a car loan opened May 14 never late. Think I have a chance at recon??

It's one of those "your experience may vary" situations.  Depending on how bad you "need" this card and whether your credit profile is strong enough to qualify, you can also try reaching out to the Capital One EO  in the event you don't get much traction through FB.

Re: Cap 1 recon

I will try the chat first and then reach out to them if that doesn't work. No harm no foul, they already did the HP! Most of my cards are junk high interest cards. I have the Cap 1 secured $200 limit, Cred 1 Bank $400 limit, Cred 1 Bank AU $300 limit, and Walmart store card $600 limit. I need something better than those and to get them GONE! The WalMart I will keep in hopes of it going to a Discover eventually. The others are gone as soon as I can get something better :-)

The chat is mostly worthless and you can do most of what the chat reps can by self service with your login.

There is practically 0 chance of your Walmart becoming a Discover.  Smiley Wink

Good catch Nixon!  Smiley Very Happy

OP, once your overall scores improve in time and your credit profile achieves an optimal range, then it's likely you can be solicited for the WalMart MC.  Generally (scores-wise), this tends to occur around ~700 (FICO), with a relatively clean profile, low/moderate utilization, and not a lot of new accounts or inquiries.

Right, that's the only downside (or tradeoff - depending on the credit profile).  Downside of course is AAoA impact.  Upside, more wide acceptance through the MC network.
