Cap 1 recon

After four months of having the cap 1 secured card and my file being thin because its the only card I have, I decided to app for the unsecured plat card. Mind you I don't have a credit score either I was denied by the online application. A couple of days later I received the denial letter in the mail and it stated that I was missing information from my credit bureau reports ( credit score). So I decided that I would try the EO email and see what happened. I stated everything that I just posted and asked for their reconsideration of my application. A day later a gentleman called me from the EO office and wanted to discuss my email. ( very friendly guy btw) he took my information and asked why I was interested in the unsecured card and I stated that I wanted another postive tl on my report and that I really like dealing with cap 1 and that their app for android is great and easy to pay my bill anytime I wanted. He said ok and that he would get back to me 3-5 business days with a result. Today I got a call from him again stating he had good news and that I was approved for an unsecured card for $500. I said thank you and he told me that if I ever have any concerns to just call him and he would try to help me out. Not much of a victory for some of you guys in this forum but nonetheless a victory for me and proof that hard work and with the help of reading these forums u can get on your way to the road that suits you financial needs.

On the contrary... Anytime someone is able to upgrade from a secured card to an unsecured card is a victory, no matter how small the limit is.

Congrats on your progress!
