Cap One Cards Question

Hi all,

I have two Cap One cards.

Platinum rebuilder w/ $500 CL with 22.90% interest from Feb 2011, $39 AF

 and

No Hassle Rewards w/ $500 CL with 18.90% interest from Dec 2011, $39 AF (Credit Steps increase to $750 is scheduled for late spring/early summer)

So my question is regarding the Platinum rebuilder.

I know Cap One is very stingy with CLI's and with granting requests in general. Has anyone had success with getting a CLI on one of their Cap Ones by mentioning the higher CL on another Cap One that they may have? What about getting a lower APR to match the card with the better APR, or at least get closer to it? Waiving annual fees?

Also, if I wanted to call to make any or all of the above requests, would it be better for me to do it before or after the anniversary date in February?

Thanks!

Re: Cap One Cards Question

I don't have any experience with Cap One, however, why not just call and ask? If you don't want a hard, tell them and nothing bad can come of it.

Re: Cap One Cards Question

Cap1 does not accept consumer~initated credit line increase requests for the majority of their cards.

Re: Cap One Cards Question

Cap one doesnt care even if you tell them you have a BCE at $25k. Its what their 'system' tells them to do.

Re: Cap One Cards Question

Well this is the verdict on cap one cli THEY JUST DON'T EXIST lol and if they did it would be a measly increase I had a secured card with 200 limit and I ran over 800 a month I. Expenses through it and when I closed it and got a no hassle rewards they stuck me with 500 cl but I guess I'm part of the lucky bunch because I have no af on it and my credit steps program goes from 500 to 750 then on 10th statement it will go to 1250 but have a ceiling of 3000 on it but I spoke with very nice non Peggy credit analyst and he told me that yes my card is a rebuilder but from what he sees it is one of the rebuilders that will grow because I don't have bad credit just short credit and he said that don't be suprised that I get offered the venture card after a year
Fico's in 500s across all three and one nfcu nrewards card with 2k limit for rebuilding
