Emailed EO to request lower apr on my card, a week later, received a letter from them asking me to call in to provide more info, Called in and provided them what they asked for and requested an apr reduction (had the card for years). a week later the person calls me back only to say that there aren't any offers on my account currently (same thing as the CSRs told me), and they the person tells me i should call a month or two later telling me that there might be an offer on my account for a lower apr for like 7 months period or so.
What a waste of time lol
not like i ever keep a balance on that card, but trying to lower apr on all of my cards is something i'm into while trying to stay in the garden. I have numerous cards that are under 10% now and majority are under 15% but there are still a few that are just wayy too high because i either got them with a short credit history long time ago or when i had too many recent inquiries and i apped for them
Meh, I wouldn't really call them "useless" haha! That does suck that you couldn't get your APR lowered but hey, you don't carry a balance there anyway
Just keep trying, I'm sure at some point they will show you some luv
I tried the same thing with my Venture card. I was told it's very rare to get APR lowered permanently, but they occasionally have limited time APR reduction promos, as you mentioned. Only way to get lower APR is app again. Not happening for me. In the garden now, and staying there a while. If you PIF, shouldn't be an issue. I do undersatnd, it's the principal and pride of ownership. Cap1 is good overall. ![]()

yeah its just a nice feeling to get that apr reduced after trying a couple different methods and finally getting that success of having an apr reduction on most of my other cards. Its just a nice acomplishment and feels good to know that some lenders will lower my apr even if its by 1% ![]()
Like really Captial One, I have a savings/checking accounts with them, a Quicksilver card and a brokecrage account and they cant lower my apr even by one percent, just so much for appreciating my business with them.
I work for a ***** bank and i don't have nearly as much of my assests with them as i do with capital one haha
