It is called Quicksilver, and non embossed from the picture. So it looks like a candidate for a metal card. I know it says you can change the image, but they may just send you a normal card then.
This is from a chat that I was having right now.

you: I was wondering if you could help me change my card design to the Quicksilver card. My rewards have been upgraded to that card version but I do not have that design.Jackston: I understand your concern.Jackston: You will be issued a new card.Jackston: Your new card reflects the new design for the Quicksilver cards issued by Capital One. The card should last as long as your previous, embossed cards
Does that mean it is metal?

oops I just realized that was your question. I'd assume no. I'd guess more like the DiscoverIT

I was just in instant chat, asking could they convert my VentureOne to Quicksilver, they said no, then I asked the rep if it is metal. He said it is of metal color, so yes, I would think it would be like Discover IT too.
Yeah, I don't think it is metal then, I think it is merely a nicer looking card in some aspects of the material.
The differences between the two cards are that the 'No Hassles Cash Rewards Visa' is a Platinum Card and get 50% bonus each year as long as the account is open.
The Quicksilver is a Signature Visa Card which, if like other Signature cards has more benefits than a Platinum Card, more along the lines of the benefits Amex offers and you get the whole amount of the rewards when the transaction posts to the account. So, you get more benefits and don't have to wait to get the 50% back. This makes it a little better option since it is replacing the "No Hassle" card version. The MC version of the card has the basic version and the Visa version is a Signature card. The MC version also has a $39 AF. The cash back for the two different versions are the same, just the benefits should be more for the Visa version.
Why do you think they renamed the card. Was it a 'Hassle' having that name? Was is a marketing thing for bringing in the HSBC cardholders?
So since quicksilver is actually mercury, does this card have mercury in it? If so is it a poisonous level? I would hate to get mercury poisoning from using the card.
I guess the green card has gone bye bye.....

It's probably depends up on the aplication date, but my No Hassle Cash Rewards VISA is Signature, and No Hassle Cash Rewards MC is World (no AF since that was the opening term, AF not amended later).
In addition, there is no sign-up bonus for MC & $100 sign-up bonus for VISA, for the differences you are compairing.
This is my chat with the rep
I just called a couple of days ago to have my Cash Reward's card PC'd to the Quicksilver and the CSR told me that I would:
1. Not be able to PC right now, but check back in the middle of the month.
2. it was also interesting that she asked me whether I was asking about my HSBC account, because HSBC rewards accounts would be upgraded to quicksilver. When I asked her if my account (since I don't have an HSBC rewards, but a non rewards card) would be upgraded, she said I would have to wait until the middle of the month when I am scheduled to receive more information regarding my account.
I just received an email from Cap One regarding the transition and I should be looking out for an email the middle of the month which will give me information regarding adding my HSBC card to Cap One online. It all pretty much adds up to the possiblity that my HSBC may definitely be upgraded to a Quicksilver.

Thank you!
Been curious about this with my own silly Orchard card transitioning to C1. Maybe it has a future besides one more AF paying and then the shredder sometime next year.
