Cap One Secured newbie question

FYI, pay Captial One at least a week or two in advance.  They have a habit of holding your payment until they can "Verify" your bank account or some crap like that.  

If you need the money available ASAP, you can have Capital One do a three way call with your bank during business hours.  I have had to do this a few times so far.

Thank you everyone!! I will just use my card and not worry about utilization until I get better cards and pay when the statement comes in. I am so glad I found these boards, what a great group of experts we have here

They held my payment the first 2 times and then they began clearing next day. I made a $2,000 payment last month and my credit limit was replenished within 24 hours before the payment cleared my checking account. They may not hold it since the amount is so much lower but who knows!

At this point there is only 1 important thing.   NEVER BE LATE.   

I suggest you plan to pay the minimum payment or more right after it closes and then pay the rest of the balance due before the due date ( so no interest).
