@Xanthos472 wrote:I wonder if they perhaps lump it in as a BT. I've done a very short term BT on one of their cards and as long as you PIF it's treated like a purchase that doesn't rewards. There is no BT fee and no interest IF the balance is PIF but they really, really, don't like if you do it a lot. Some old DP's of this buried somewhere here on the boards but can't recall exactly where I found it since it was several years ago and it was already an old DP then.
EDIT: Dang auto-correct
Circling back and replying to my own comment bc I forgot to add a relevant DP upthread.
When I first got the bucketed QS in my siggy, it was a Platinum. I wanted to use it for a balance transfer, since this particular mailer offered 9 months 0% on BT. I know, I know, why would you get a Platinum; however, this was my first card IIRC.
Anywho, nowhere in the T&C could I find any mention of a BT fee. So, I called and asked what the BT fee was... I was told that there is no BT fee; instead, the BT is treated as CA BUT is applied to the promo APR for purchases, and no interest is accrued or rewards earned. I was told that I could do more BTs even after the promo APR ended, but that in that case interest would be charged ONLY if the balance was not paid by the due date of the billing cycle in which the BT posted to the account.
This may have changed since then, but matches the old DPs I found that I mentioned upthread.

C'mon, we're in suspenders here 🤔
@CorpCrMgr1IIRC, you could do up to $50 with Discover when making a puchase and it wouldn't report as a CA.

Never been asked when using my Discover card. Thank you for the information!

I think it's up to $120 every 24 hours. See post 11.
and OFC, that blasphemous CSR WAS WRONG!!!
I got charged $30 and some change for interest!!! I specifically tried to pay it off within a few days, and the CSR wouldnt let me allocated the payment.
I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW. I KNOW THEY CAN ALLOCATE PAYMENTS.
aren't they REQUIRED to allocate my payment towards the cash advance FIRST???
I should have trusted my instinct. I asked that little witch over and over if she was SURE I wouldn't be charged interest and if I needed to go ahead and pay it all off, and she assured me and pointed to verbage on the back of the statement saying if I've been PIF, I get grace period on CA too.
SO WRONG SO WRONG. SO MAD SO MAD.
