Cap One won't do this!

The other banks I've dealt with (Chase, Discover mostly) will, upon request, notify all CRAs when you have brought your card balance to zero. At Chase, you don't even need to request it. I spoke to a CSR at Cap One today, and was told that the best I could hope for is a letter from them to me stating that I've attained a zero balance. To put it another way, they would send me a letter that has absolutely no use whatsoever. I thought of requesting a supervisor, because my CSR could barely speak English, but I just decided to thank him and hang up.

Has anyone on this Forum had any success getting this valuable service from Cap 1?

Well, I guess that's that. Thanks.

You could always dispute the balance being incorrect with the CRA's to get it updated, but there's always the risk the account could be deleted. I've disputed Capital One incorrect balances sucessfuly several time.

The part in blue can't be stressed enough.  If that happens, then you have a whole 'nother issue that could end up being very tedious (if not impossible) to resolve.

I definitely do not recommend going this route.
