Cap One

Recieve a 7.9 percent increase 3 days prior to new Fed rules from Cap One or 'Capone' synonomous w/ other notorious people. Said that "Promotional balance had expired" There was no Promo Balance. No satisfaction w/ call center. No adjustment? What's up?

Re: Cap One

I'm pretty sure all of their cards start out with a promo APR that then becomes variable--this is not new, so I don't think it's related to the CARD act. If you go the credit card section of the website you can see this. My APR increased after 8 or 10 months, but since I don't revolve balances, I don't care. If this was in your initial agreement, I guess they don't have a particular incentive to change it.

I was given the same response when I questioned the increase from 13.9 to 22.9. They instructed me that the changes were sent out in a letter last january. Seriously? I don't carry balances so it doesn't really matter, but it is frustrating. Hopefully soon I can move on to bigger and better cards anyway.

Re: Cap One

CapOne has me sitting on a 22.99% APR as well. I don't think they're going to budge for anyone. Move along to better cards. Smiley Wink
