Cap One

I started out with Cap One 3 years ago with their Credit Steps card. $300 initial CL then went to $500 after 4 months. Nothing sense. Applied and was approved for a Cap One No Hassle Rewards card a month ago and received a $750 CL. Yesterday I just received the Credit Steps letter on this one stating that after 3 payment, etc. My CL would go up to $1250.

My highest CL is $1500 with Hooter's and I am looking for a GOOD card that I can get some decent rewards and a decent CL.

My question is should I close the original Cap One, work on the new one, and try for a regular card in the future since I have heard that you can not have more than 2 Cap One cards? Also does anyone know if they do CLI after the 4 month mark?

Re: Cap One

I regret ever applying for a CapOne card.  The CL is too low  ($750) compared to my other cards and I've only gotten one increase since I signed up for it.  My score was rougly 730 when I applied, so I was expecting a decent limit, not $500.  I'm going to go for PNC card in a couple of months.

Re: Cap One

I combined mine.  Don't know if they still do that.
