Thanks DD. This is exactly the info i was looking for. and yes. This is the exact offer i got as well. now. i won't  say the check is exactly blank as it does have my name on it. and you have the exact offer i have because i see the date on the lower right corner. which mine says september 24th as well. so if i deposit the check in my account it will go thru no problem. Alright. Great. Free loan. minus the $60 fee i will pay up front. for 2k. but now the problem. My statement cuts on the 15th of the month.  and my new balance will report then. that i have a 0 balance on my credit report. Should i wait until then to use the check? or not worry about it as cap one will know the only balance on my card is the BT check to begin with? and i did not really understand about the new purchases. But i did see it say something like that. So it really means i need to Sd the card in order to get the full benefit? it also says i can use up to the full credit limit? at what point will my score suffer? because my limit on that card is only 5.5k. So say i wrote the check for say $3500? this would help me out greatly. not with bills or anything but allowing me to set a kitty to the side for my asian adventure later this year. and not worry about paying it all back  for the next 12 months. you have been great in explaining this to me. out standing.

I didnt even know they offered these! Good to know. Must be because I've almost always had a balance... Duh

I still have balance reporting on my card. I actually just set up the payment yesterday and it has not came out of my account so they must have sent these in the mail long before i paid it. I don't think that is why they send them. Cap one must figure they can make a little change off of me Smiley Very Happy

I get the cap 1 b/t checks in the masses recently. about ever 2-3 months.

after you make the balance transfer, nothing can be charged to that card until you are done paying off the b/t.

so if you have something say like a netflix subscription and it goes through after the b/t, u lose the 0 percent on the b/t.

not sure if u mentioned knowing that lol.

Wow. i need to go back and make sure i don't have any recurring charges on that card. im pretty sure i have nothing. because i did not use it in a long time as i was chasing the balance for many months.

Re: Cap one BT checks?

whats the problem with recurring charges? unless they are large amounts? i thought the consumer credit act fixed this issue, and any amount of payment over the minimum (which surely you would be paying much more than the minimum) would be applied to balances with higher interest, eg new purchases....

Re: Cap one BT checks?

Taxi how long have you had your Quicksilver? I ask because I just got mine at the beginning of July and it was supposed to have a 0% APR BT offer on it (I don't need it right now but that's not the point) and when I check my BT offers online it says I don't have any offers on my QS?? I thought it was just because my account was new, but it still says it and my card is almost 2 months old now. So I was just wondering if you had any issues like this, and how long it took before you started receiving BT offers on your QS?

i never got any of those capital one checks in the mail. Maybe because im paperless. i do not know. They only let me get by the no-BT fee but charge me 22.99% for any balance transfers. ''Pay the same variable 22.9% APR for balance transfers as you do for card purchases.''  Thats why i never look at themfor balance transfers.

But I first started looking right when I got approved. Since I already had other Cap1 accounts, it linked immediately so I've had online access since day 1 and I've been checking since then and it's always said I have no BT offers on my QS. It shows crappy offers for my other 2 accounts, just not for this one. If I actually needed it I would be irritated, but I'm just more curious if anyone else has had the same issue. At first I thought it was just because the account was so new and maybe it needed more time to update online, but that's clearly not the case anymore.

Re: Cap one BT checks?

Fine print is why u cant use the card for charges.

If you pay your balance in full each month, you do not pay interest on your purchases. Please note, after you accept this offer, you will begin paying interest on all new purchases, even if you pay your purchase balance in full each month. To avoid paying interest on new purchases, you must pay your total balance in full (including balances from this offer) by the due date each month.
