Cap1 AU Question

So I just added my BF as an AU on my cap1 plat card (CL: $2600) but I checked the box to not issue him a card because I'm only adding him onto my account so that it can be listed on his credit report because he is barely getting on the credit train and has low limit cards: $500 BOA, $300 cap1 plat, and $300 Macys. By not giving him a card, would it still show up on his credit report or does he need to have a card issued to him and use it for it to report of his credit.

Doesn't make a difference whether he has the card or not.

+1. It'll show up on his reports the next time the card reports to the bureaus.
