Cap1 CCs

I have a 8 month history with Cap1 ( regular platinum) and from reading here I found the best way to increase my limt is to open a new card with them and combine the CL's.. I was approved for the cash back one and when I asked for combination they said I will lose the status of the cash back reward card Smiley Sad .. since I have 8 month history with  them do you think it worth keeping the regular platinum or should I transfer my old to the new account???

Also I have been F1st Prem customer for over 4 years and I have zero balance on the account.. I m thinking about cancelling the card .. would that be help in raising my score or should I keep it and pay the 6.00 monthly fee?

Re: Cap1 CCs

IMO, I would never pay a monthly fee to anyone. I don't need credit that bad. Even when my credit was terrible, I just waited it out and got a secured card and paid an annual fee once and after a few months the credit offers poured in. They were 0% CC's like Cap One, but at least no AF or fees.
Barclays US Air $17K| TTCU $15K| Citi Diamond $10.5K| Discover IT $9000| CapOne $2K| Best Buy $2K

Re: Cap1 CCs

if there are no fees involved i would keep both of them.  with such a short credit history i don't see any reason for combining them.  what is your reason?  don't pay any monthly fees unless it's absolutly neccessary.
When you have been with cap one longer think about combining.

Re: Cap1 CCs

I only want to combine them  to have a better CL insted of 2 small credit limits. also because I want to pay one payment instead of two

Re: Cap1 CCs

so you think the reward card is not worth wasting the 8 month history of the regular one?
