@Anonymous wrote:I applied for and received an HSBC card last year at this time. As soon as I received it, I didn't activate it. It just sat in an envelope for a month.I got the first statement about a month after I got it. It had the $45 or whatever annual fee on it. I was livid! I got billed and had not even activated it!I called them up immediately, and told them to IMMEDIATELY cancel this card, as I'm being billed for services not rendered. The rep said "what can I do to salvage the account?" I told him the ONLY way would be to remove that charge, AND give me a cli. He did on both. And kept me as a customer.I kind of wish I did not even have that card now. Thinking of cancelling after the first of the year. It's my lowest credit limit card.
@Anonymous wrote:Timothy I totally agree. They need to do a total rehaul like Cap 1 have been doing. I have had my HSBC Plat Visa for 2 years. My scores are totally different now than they were when I first opened this card. I saw on one of these threads that they do not grow with you and I would have to agree with that. The only reason I have not closed that card is because I am scared that it would somehow mess with my aging and it doesn't have an AF. They stink!! I don't even consider that card as one of my CC's.
