Cap1 CLI with less than perfect acct. history?

I've had my cap1 card for two years, and went through the credit steps program in the beginning to go from $300 to $750 CL.

It's my lowest limit card.

Over the past two years I've gone over limit once and been late a few times.  But my lates are only by a few days at the most, because of my being forgetful.  I've always been reported to the CRAs as paid on time.  My Util on the card has varied (after joining here I PIFed) but I generally never carried a high balance (relative to my CL) for long, and usually made big payments.

I'm tired of paying late fees for no reason, and I'm more into keeping my Util down now so since visiting here I've been paying a few times a month just to keep it low, and PIF before the statement cuts.

How long should I wait to request a CLI?

From past history here on the forums, I'd say go ahead and try for it, cuz you're probably not gonna get it.  If you need more credit, time to move on.  Capitol One seems to be for rebuilding, and after that they're pretty useless.

I would say that since the OP has made some mistakes with the rebuilder card, the "credit deciding computer" over at Cap 1 might not give out a CLI.  No matter how big the recent payments.  Use the backdoor number and try to plead your case (to the computer).
