Re: Cap1 CLI

What is this backdoor number. I have had Cap 1 card for 2 years and only have 500 limit. When i call them for CLI they come up with BS. Won't even give a interest rate reduction! They are ridiculous

Re: Cap1 CLI

Just noting my experience with a Capital One Gold Card...

Called the main number and spoke to an "Account Specialist" and got the canned response (not eligible, monthly reviews etc...)...

Called the back door number and got a Senior Account Supervisor and got shot down as well, but - at least I got some information on why...

The card started as a $500 card, then raised to $1000. I've had the card for 6 years and according to the SAS - it has an upper limit of $2k (which I find strange since the website lists it at $300-$3000). She mentioned that when I got my first CLI, it changed the card over from a Gold card to a Platinum card.

As for me - scores are 660-683 (high 500's 8 months ago), 1 judgement listed, 2 Charge Offs in the past 2 years, but no lates on this particular card in 2 years.

She asked me to give the process another month or two to give them some time review the account one more time. She also told me to call in December and ask for the membership fee to be waived (which I plan on asking to be removed completely when I get that CLI).

So guess, I'll just go app for a better CAP one card and see about getting them combined in the future...

They won this battle...but the war still wages on...

Re: Cap1 CLI

Just another quick update...app'd for a C1 Platinum (the offering for "credit that needs improvement") and got shot down...

BUT!...

I qualified for a ...

(wait for it).....

....Prepaid Mastercard!!!! wooooOOOOoooOOoooo (sigh)

Went back to my bank's website (HSBC) app'd for a Platinum Rewards Plus card and got approved for a $2500 TL in under 5 minutes...What gives!!!

So credit cards I have now:

Cap 1 Platinum $1000, 6 years old
HSBC Discover Network Card $2500, 3 mos old
HSBC Platinum Rewards Plus Card $2500, 30 minutes old

Goal is to shoot for 10k right?

btw - with the help of this forum, I've spent the last 6 months cleaning up my debt picture...

$0 balances across my cards
Motorcycle's paid off a year early
$900 in student loans
All judgements and collections satisfied or in DV process

Cheers Smiley Wink
