Hello everyone!
I've been going the process of restoring my credit after a bk in late 2014 and to date have a Cap1 platinum (2700cl), Cap1 QS (5,000cl) and a Disc. It (1,000cl).
The platinum card is 9 months old and other two recent additions. My question is does it make sense to hang onto this card or simply merge it with the QS? As it won't affect my age very much and with the annual fee and limit I won't really be using it.
Thanks for your time!
When does the annual fee occur? Do you have plans to apply for another card?
I ask because three cards is a sweet spot for scoring. It's harder to optimize your score with less than three. If the annual fee is far into the future, you might decide to wait until you have another card before combining. Or you might decide that one more annual fee is OK, but no more after that.
Welcome, Rogue46!
I agree with HeavenOhio. I would keep it until you get another card or until just before the AF is due again. All the best on your continued rebuild!
I would combine them and then add a third card.
I don't have any immediate plans to add another card but the af isn't due until Oct this year so maybe adding one or combining them at that point makes sense. Thanks for your help!
