Cap1 QS1 not showing available balance?

I paid the balance in full on Tuesday, and usually the next day the entire balance is available. Well yesterday (Wednesday) it showed I had a 0 balance but I did not have the full CL available, only the previous available from before I paid. Well today (Thursday) it still says I do not have the full available.

The statement isn't cut until the 21st so I'm not using the card until the 22nd anyway, but this has never happened to me before, and I watch all my cards like a hawk.

Obviously I'm going to call today to see whats up but I'm at work and wont be able to call until Lunch.

Not sure if this applies to your situation...but I've read of CapOne holding funds if there are continious multiple payments in a cycle or if you constantly switch between bank accounts when making those payments.  Is your account new?  If so, that could be the reason as well.  If you want to be certain of the reason then you can always call and ask.

Re: Cap1 QS1 not showing available balance?

Yeah I'm a little OCD when it comes to credit right now, I hope to get traditional financing on multi family real estate in a few years.

So that being said I actually pay my capone cards from a Capone360 bank account, I always use the same one, and I always pay in full 5 days before statement cuts and I only make one payment a month. The account is "newer" but this is the 3rd month paying it this way and the first time it happened. I'm sure its a bug and a call will fix it but I figured maybe someone has seen it before and maybe there is a cause that we can use as a data point.

They hold the funds if your payment history is suspicious to them for some reason. If you're either making more payments or making larger payments or something like that. It happened to me in December twice when my CL was only $500, so I was making a ton of payments because I didn't want the card to be maxed out and wanted to have available credit. They hold it automatically for about 5-7 business days I think they said. Or you can call and they will do a 3 way with your bank to confirm that you are the account holder and that you authorized the payments, etc.

Starting: EQ 498 TU 501 EX 485 (9/23/11)
As of 5/12: EQ 552 TU 591 EX 572
Credit Repair Journey Bump in the Road
As of 10/15: EQ 511 TU 588 EX 601
Discover TU Fico- 12/31/18: 694; CK EQ- 1/16/19: 634
Goal: All 3 above 700

Re: Cap1 QS1 not showing available balance?

With that in mind, I think there could be a potential for suspicion, because I paid both cards in full within 5 business days and both cards were $50 or less away from max. I'm not sure I've done that before and they can be finicky about some stuff.

After I call in I'll post what they said.

Re: Cap1 QS1 not showing available balance?

Well all they could tell me was

"To reduce your risk of a future hold, be sure to continue making payments on time, avoid having payments returned, avoid making payments greater than the credit limit or your current balance, and use the same bank account for payments. "

But it was a hold and they could not remove it either, which is kinda scary, luckily I already had plans not to use it, but if I had needed the available credit I would be hosed. Well now I know they can hold your payments at any time with out a obvious rhyme or reason.
