Hi, everyone! I just wanted to share...
Last October I was approved for a Cap1 No Hassle Rewards Mastercard. Today, I received my very first rewards check! It's $50... which may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but it means a lot to me. As many of you know, I'm in credit rebuilding mode. I know that many people don't think very highly of Cap1, but I really appreciate that not only have they been willing to give me a second chance, but have also approved me for a credit product that allows me to earn cash back. I know that there are more prestigious rewards cards out their, but for a rebuilder I think that this is a really good choice.
Anyway, while it may not seem like much, it was a nice little mood lift when I opened the mailbox and retreived the check. It helps to receive little boosts like this when you're rebuilding, and in credit gardening mode as well.

Congratulations. Any amount of rewards or cash back is a good thing.
BTW Cap 1 is my oldest card at 13 Years and counting.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774

Sweeeeeeeet!!! Congrats! I elected to credit my account back when it reaches $25. I like the freedom that you have to select your redemption type at any given time on their website. Next, I might select a gift card.
That's great! I feel the same way whenever I receive my reward $25 rewards from Discover. But I'm totally suprise that Capital One actually giving cashback. I stil have the same 10 years old card that offers no rewards.
Oh yeah, we were discussing that in another thread. You must apply for the No Hassles Rewards card. Although they claim you can upgrade, I've never seen it so I can't say for sure. Most people confirmed that you must apply, therefore, you'll see most Cap-1 cardholders have 2+ cards with them.

I debated between taking a credit or getting a check. I decided to get a check and deposit into my savings account. Somehow, it just felt more "tangible" to me... strictly a psychological thing. I agree, I like having the different redemption options.

I checked my account and saw that they are giving me points. I'm at 214. Not much collecting I can do with a $750 credit line. But I do appreciate the fact I don't have to pay an AF.

I've been doing pretty well with a $500 credit line. I've been using the card for almost all of my regular, expected purchases: gas, groceries, holiday shopping, utility bills, car insurance, etc. The bottom line is that it's taken the place of using my debit card. But, with such a small credit line, I PIF several times a month. Thank goodness for online account access, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this. I wind up paying at least twice a week. Admittedly, I will be glad to get a CLI, as it will give me a little more "elbow room" with my expenditures. I still plan on using it only for purchases I would normally be making and can afford to PIF, but with a higher CL I'll be able to get down to paying in full only once a week, and eventually maybe bi-monthly. Frankly, though, once a week would work quite well for me, so I might just continue doing that.

I have a PenFed, Discover and AMEX card that gets the majority of my business. There's nothing I can do with points. I need cash back!
