Just remember to cancel after the first year to avoid AF!

Not sure if I’ll do that or not. If I do, the card becomes kind of useless at 1.25 miles/dollar when I can have a card that gets more. But I guess it can stay nice and cozy in the SD

If you are not transferring the miles to a partner, and the hotels.com thing ends in 2020, then you end up paying an AF for a restricted 2% card, when there are free ones that offer an unrestricted 2%.  So, IMO, no need to pay an AF that doesn't get you anything....
