Cap1 and the maximum credit limits within a particular cc

I spoke to Crystal, using one of the back door #'s I have. She's in Nova Scotia call center. Had a great convo with her.

I called her ranting and raving about a balance transfer fee I got hit with when I did a BT from WaMu into Cap1. $12.40 charge(2%). When I was 'talked into' doing the bt, I specifically asked the rep if a balance transfer fee was involved. He said no. I questioned him 3 different times about it. He held fast. The only reason I did it because of that.

After explaining, Crystal not only waived the fee, but gave me a $50.00 goodwill credit that'll appear on my next statement. More love spread by the unspreadables.

That's why I called. THEN I moved into questioning her about my card, and where my cl stood in the cl range they have for that particular card. A particular card has a cl range. When you exceed the range limit, you're stuck there forever. The only way to get higher limits is to apply for a card with higher limit range.

And my card is at 'max capacity'. Crystal verified that for me. So no more love from Cap1 on that card. FYI, it's a Visa Platinum with $3,200 cl on it.

Very interesting. I should call and ask about my card.

Sounds like it's time to sock-draw Visa Platinum - and move up.

Yep depending on the prduct tier, you are right.  Once you reach max limit it is stuck.  BUT they have been upgrading to better cards latley with no app.  I wouldn't app for another Cap1.  I am currently working off a 1.99 for life BT and will just wait.  If nothing, once paid, it goes to socks until they offer a new one.

BTW I asked a rep the other day and my WaMu has a cap too.  If I ever get there I will keep that card anyway.

Good to know about WaMu Brammy. Tnx. Smiley Happy

Well between those 2, they have 4 out of 7 of my bank cards. And guess which one is #5. HSBC! Smiley Tongue

I'll try to get some figured out... I always wondered this and thanks for a great thread starter.  I'll do some serious pecking away at this and try to get a good master going.  And I had been saving being obsessive compulsive until the weekend!
