Cap1 question

Can you apply for two capital one cards within a 3 week time frame? Just asking because my mom got the Quicksilver card on 9/18. She was prequalified. Then today she applied for the Journey card and instant denial. Then she applied for another card she was prequalified for and it denied her again. We checked her reports and there doesn't seem to be any hard pulls unless it takes a while. We're hoping there isn't 6 new hard pulls and nothing to show for it! Side note - I asked Cap1 live chat a few mos. ago how many cards you can have, and I think he said 5. So I'm not sure why the denials even for a prequalified card.

Re: Cap1 question

I know you can have at least 2 from them and maybe they used the same pulls? If they didn't that would be 9 hps for the qs. Journey. And app for another... Smiley Sad

I have a letter from C1 stating you can only have two capital one credit cards at a time.

There may be a limit to the apps you can do in a timeframe if it went down like you stated.

QS approval and Journey denial is interesting.

According to information I found on their website it looks like you can only have 2 of their average credit cards at a time (journey, quicksilver one). On the better cards (venture, quicksilver) you can have 5 at one time. All of the apps say you can't apply if you've applied for two or more cap 1 cards in the previous 30 days.

The Journey was her second app, right? Don't know what happened but they say you can apply for 2 in 30 days. If you go to their site and click "apply now"  and scroll down to the bottom of the app (under additional disclosure area I think it is) you can see for yourself the conditions for applying.

Re: Cap1 question

I applied for their Playstation CC last month and was denied. Well I was waiting for the HP alerts but didn't get them. Thought that was odd. Got a letter the other day stating that they denied me because I had a new account pending or recently opened. It also said my credit was not impacted by this decision. I just opened a QS1 about a week prior. She'll get a letter to that affect soon.

Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!
