Cap1 replacement card came w/contactless chip

My Venture Visa Siggy was soon to expire, and I got my replacement card in the mail, with a new feature.  Contactless chip!  My previous card did not have this feature.  I was however,  disappointed that my replacement card was not metal

No ma’am.....I’m curious if the metal cards can be contactless. I havent seen any DP confirming or denying. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm really surprised. Contactless has been on the way out. In fact there's no where in my metropolitan area that I know has the reader.

I'm not surprised you didn't get metal though. The website says metal cards are only for new customers. Kinda arrogant and a bit of a snub to their existing customers if you ask me.

and here I was all excited with my new feature, and its not "cool" anymore, LOL...

on another note...Ive called so many times to complain, and have written emails that I think it crappy of them to not give the metal cards to their existing Venture cardholders.  Of course it makes me feel better, but I know they are just like ok, thanks for the feedback,  *delete*...lol

That kind of thing is why I dumped Cap1 years ago. Once they get you, they kinda don't give a frack anymore. I don't feel any loyalty or love coming out of Cap1.

Actually... I keep forgetting that my saks card is Cap1 backed... Meh.

On the flip side I sent a message to Nordstrom when I was checking my account the other day. I said it'd be cool if they offered a metal card. Got the "we're listening" response but they said they'd add my request to the others.... Maybe they're keeping track? It's about time they updated the card design for us VS customers anyway. If you think of it, send a message the next time you log in.

Untrue. Contactless is growing, especially with Visa cards like the OP's. 

Citi's Costco Visa, Sprint's new credit card, Paypal's debit card, AMEX cards, Capital One's cards, and others have contactless technology in them, where none other than AMEX had contactless a few years ago. Contactless acceptance at merchants has also risen.
