CapOne Combine Help!!

Hey guys I’m trying to be slick about combing my capital one cards and seeing if this will work. I currently have a QS 1 - 750 and Plat - 500. They keep denying my CLI request and I recently saw my Plat is eligible for upgrade to regular QS. I was going to do this upgrade then combine the QS1 on to the QS. Wondering if this will work?

Also will it hurt or harm my credit if I combine both cards to one card? I really am disappointed capOne is making it such a task to get a CLI when I always pay on time and most of the time don’t even have a balance on one of them.

Both are over 6 months old - 2 years+ to be exact.

Any help is appreciated

I was in a similar situation. Had the QS1 and Platinum from QS. I went from the Platinum to the QS1 and when I did, the disclaimer read that no other changes could be made for six months including product changes and CLIs. Also, the card that is being closed must have a $0 balance with no pending transactions.

Thank you! So does this mean I can't upgrade it then add the other to it until after six months? I wont request another credit limit if I can combine them. Im just trying to figure out the best way to get a higher limit over one card verses two low limits.

Re: CapOne Combine Help!!

I have 2 cap 1 and one has $0 the other is new maybe 3 months when u sign in click on one of the accounts then services, then account combination and get started if it’s allowed it will inform you one account will close and the limit goes to the other card, make sure you have $0 before closing and it’s not too new a card that has a bonus or something because I’m Not sure how that would work if they would take it back! But I would wait and see how the 6 month cli would look b4 combine! Or wait it out cap1 is pretty slow on increases and give when they feel like it😏 I’ve had a card with they 12 years and it hasn’t even hit 10k yet but it was a starter card so they look at that so I figure I have a better chance wit a new one! But I will see at 6mos
