If I apply for a 2nd card from Capital One, what would be the best card to get from them. Would it be a hard pull also ? My 1st cap one is from 5 years ago.
I have two cards from capital one. I have the starter platinum and I just got the cash rewards 50% back card with only a $300 limit. My first one is $500 limit. This makes no sense to me, but what does with capital one? I would suggest going with a better company than capital one unless you are still building your credit.

Yeah, they hard pull again. I just applied for the cobranded Playstation one and even though I'd gotten the Journey card from them a bit over a month ago they still hard pulled.
I'd created a thread a week or so ago that had a few other cap one cards listed, if your looking for more ideas.
Don't forget to look at their cobranded cards too, there's a sony card, a playstation card and an MTV card with different rewards.
My favorite thing about Capital One? When I apply with them they usually send me a card..lol

Great. Thanks for all the info. I forgot about the low limits with Capital One. I got my Capital One 4 years ago and it had a $1750 credit limit. I will save the hard pull for Amex Preferred.
Yeah, $500 limits seem to be all I get with the exception of Journey which started at $1000

They'll pull all three CRAs, so don't app unless you are ok with taking an inquiry on all three reports.
I've been capitalone for years, I have the 1% rewards platinum at $1500 credit line. I've never gotten a CLI (my score is higher 700s) I've tried to use it at least once a month for ~4 years.
My girlfriend applied for the capitalone journey, her first card, scores in the high 500s and got approved for $2000.
Does it make sense? no. If you can get with a prime lender I would wait for that, especially if you think you can get AmEx.

Don't do it. Save your HP for a worthwhile company. One Capital One card is plenty.
I will go 4 Amex Preferred instead. I have had Zync for the last 7 months along with Discover and Barclays. All of my CC are pif for over $3k. I will wait for my Fico score to boost from my 590 I have now. It was 665 5 months ago and I took some hit because of new CC's. Im in garden mode and waiting for hard pulls and utilization to come down.

If you already have those cards, then another Cap One isn't going to do you any good anyways, especially since AAOA's seems to have been hurt by your newest additions. I only went for another Cap One because Barclay and Discover declined me.. lol.. I'm not worried about inquiries as my old mortgage company does a hard inquiry every other month anyways. Even if I didn't use a single inquiry, I'd still have 6 from them. I'm gonna get scored low on inquiries no matter what until they're done with the foreclosure they started three years ago.
