Got them to waive mine this year, but the second level CSR told me that they aren't doing it much anymore, and only for people who actively use the cards. I opened this card in June 2006, and it had a small AF of $19.
Cap1 is my oldest card (12 years) and had an AF from the beginning. Up until last year I was able to call when it came due and have the fee waived. I will call again in Feb. about waiving it but am not confident they will. The AF is $20. That comes out to $1.67 a month. If they don't waive it I won't be too upset. They issued this when I was in the middle of my BK when others wouldn't so I'm grateful for that. I've never had problems with Cap 1. I'm not going to close my oldest account for $20 a year. You have to choose which battles to fight and this isn't (IMO) worth fighting over.

How much was your credit limit to begin with and how much is it now?

I've never asked for a CLI on any of my cards. I figure what I have is fine. But after reading a few posts around here I might reconsider that decision. I don't recall what the original CL was. Too many years have passed. I think they gave me a small increase without me asking about 2 years ago. My CL right now is $4000. That's always been enough. In my past the higher my CL the more tempted I was to max out the card.
