I have a card with them that i recently received a few weeks ago, but yet i still keep getting mail offers?
Is this normal, I thought you were only aloowed 1-2 cards from the same company?
yeah thats normal with cap1, i have 2 cards with them but i keep recieving "offers", i tried applying for one of them recenly and they said i cant have any more cards with them, so i dont know why they keep sending me the letters.
Yes, it's their Marketing department that sends out the bulk mail offers and not really matching that against your existing accounts, therefore, you can walk it on over to the shredder or cancel a card that you no longer want; wait 30-days; and apply for the new mail offer if it's still good. It's a gamble, not a sure thing so this may or may not be a good idea for you.
I dont think CapOne care how many account you have with them. They just don't want to see more than 1 application in less than 60 days.

Mind if I ask, why would you want a third card with them?
Yes, Capital one cares how many cards you have with them as of NOW. About a year or two ago, it may have been a different story. Now, they cap you at 2 cards.
Some of the newer offers may have a sweet incentive that your original card may not have had, but the question is... is it worth risking your AAoA in hopes of getting a better deal? After 2 cards with one lender, I would start looking elsewhere -- I kinda thinking like Vish1, why would you want another card with them.
You can have more than 2 cap one cards. I have 3 and they are all under a year old actually one is just hitting its anniversary. I have a standard platninum, a no hassle rewards and a sony visa.

I think the reason you can have 3 CapOne cards is because the Sony is a co-branded card, maybe their standard policy doesn't apply to co-branded card like the Expedia and Sony card.
