Capital One CLI Question

Got a question for the experts out here. I’m rebuilding my credit, current FICO 8 scores 580 EQ, 590 TU, and 610 EXP. I recently obtained a Capital One secured card in 04/15 and a Quicksilver One in 08/15 with a 500 CL. I got with the EO and they increased the CL to 1000. I put about 1700-2000 through this card a month and pay in full. It would make my life easier if they increased it to 1500 or 2000. How long would you guys wait before trying the Luv button?

I really don’t want to bother the EO again, because they really hooked me up with the increase. Thanks in advance.

Re: Capital One CLI

I doubt you would see any results before at least two statement cuts, and more likely at least three.

Re: Capital One CLI Question

Is your QS1 in Credit Steps?  I started with a QS1 at $500, and by following all the advice on the "Credit Card Approvals' board here at myFICO, I hit the CLI button just after the 3rd statement cut and it jumped to $1500.  Once Credit Steps ended at the 6 month mark, I got another auto $500.  So if you opened your account in August, keep using it the way you do, wait until November and hit the button and see what happens.  Even if it's a denial, you should still be eligible for a CLI at the 6 month mark in February.

Good luck!

Re: Capital One CLI Question

Yes I'm enrolled in the credit step program. But I have seen a lot of other posts receive a CLI when they hit the Luv button, so I was wondering what my chances were. Thank you all for the information. Casey

I think you have a decent chance of a CLI at the 3 month mark.  You might be able to get it now, but there's no guarantee.  I know I tried twice to get one before that mark and was denied.  Since it's a soft pull, why not just try and see what happens?

Re: Capital One CLI Question

In my quicksilver one I hit the CLI button 11 days after 2nd statement cut. It may have been available sooner then at 11 days but I gave up for a little while after having no luck.

They started mine at 2000 and gave me another 2000 with luv button. I ran few thou through it from July when I got it with multiple large payments back to 0 balance. They will reward you if you treat their cards nicely.

I went from having only a secured in July to QS1/QS/Venture/VentureOne. Good luck !!
