That's actually not correct. It's the minimum. Heavy use can be up to a $3K steps CLI.

In all fairness the OP did not elaborate on the type of spend on their card and I'll go as far as saying that with very, very few exceptions some individuals have been known to possibly get higher.  The best bet is to level set expectations since you don't see every credit steps profile being approved for anything higher than the stated amount.

I agree but it's false to say that it won't go any higher. It's not likely to do so but it does for some people. Criteria to get larger steps increases doesn't really seem easy to figure out. Seen people who just throw a recurring $10 charge get $3000 and people who spend thousands a month get $500.

Nothing was falsely stated.  It's based on DPs established in the Approvals section and countless others in both Credit Card and Applications subforums.  Perhaps for the OP's specific situation it may be set in stone based on their own profile.  For other situations, more the exception than the rule.  Notwithstanding, the OP can confirm their results when they obtain their credit steps CLI, and will be another DP for the forums.

"The amount they provided with your initial credit steps disclosure is the amount your account will receive (no more, no less)"

That's an absolute when we have seen cases of people receiving more. That's why I said it's false.

The response was specifically for the OP...notice the pronoun "your/you" in that sentence?  It didn't state everybody or all.  Also, please notice that on the reply above, the OP can confirm their DPs once they obtain said CLI.   At this point, we're beating a dead horse.

@Anonymous - please update this thread upon the completion of your credit steps.  The DPs will definitely help the community.

Re: Capital One CLI, set in stone?

Mine was only a small increase as well, however in less than a year of having the card I got multiple CLI and a PC to a venture card.

Re: Capital One CLI, set in stone?

I got my CLI today.  Went from 3,000 to 6,000, instead of 3,500 which was quoted in the app.  I'm pretty happy, but figured I'd try my luck asking for more.  I logged into the online portal and asked for a bump to 15,000, heck... why not?  I got a message stating they'd let me know in a few days.  I'll update again once I get an answer. Smiley Wink

Re: Capital One CLI, set in stone?

Thanks for the update and congrats on the nice CLI.  Glad to hear that you received a substantial CLI from the initial credit steps information.

Locking this thread as you were able to obtain the [higher] CLI.  Again, thanks for the DPs.
