I've grown this little piss ant Capital One platinum credit card from a starting $400 credit limit in 2005 to now a big dog $35,900 limit and converted it to a QS.
Cap1 cards are useless to me (I only want cash access cards or PLOC's for my businesses) but I can't close this Cap1 card since it's by far my oldest credit line (12 years 7 months).
So I applied for a Venture card six months ago with the strategy of combining Cap1 cards in six months.
My thinking was if I'm stuck with this crapola card until I die I might as well try to make it a high credit limit card.
Whamo today.
Great way to start my credit 2018 year.
Happy New Year everyone.
WOW!
I didn't realize a QS card couldd have a limit that high!
Super congrats and what a very Happy way to start the New Year
Nicely done! Congratulations!
Congrats just hopefully they don't AA you like myself as only used mine at 35k for 100 a month and took me down to 10k among many others due to low useage on the card. Show them some love and you will be good if you have the card just for a good size limit and dont use it much you might very well get hit with a CLD sometime down the road. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you though.
I've never had a line of credit reduced or closed on me ever.
No one would dare piss off the CreditLuv stripper bunny.
Nor have I until it happened to me and many others lol. Just make sure you use it for more than 100 a month or a chance it could get chopped as they have been doing to people recenetly. Just do a quick search on the forum and you will find my thread among other peoples thread of CLD's due to combining or lack or use or a bit of both. What is done is done and hopefully it doesn't happen to you. LongtimeLurker, myself and many others it happened to. LTL didnt even do a combine just didnt use much of his CL and got a CLD and if not mistaken he is around a 850 score many others got whacked as mentioned with very good credit.
Once they did it to me I just choose to close the card as a 10k QS doesn't excite me. Some kept theirs open others closed them
By combining your card into a single card at $35k, you may have inadvertently brought ur account under scrutiny. Just make sure you use it very well otherwise there are chances the limit might be axed.

The only adverse action I've ever received was Capital One closing my accounts, months after 5 cards had been combined into 2.
And they never gave me a coherent explanation as to why.
So beware.
