Capital One Card What does this mean?

So after my previous post on where to find a credit card, I searched Who Gave Me Credit and decided to try Capital One.  I did their little pre approval thing and it went to a new screen that said, "We couldn't match your records to a card offer, but we think you'll like this one...."  and then it shows several cards listed with the apr and yearly fee.

Does that mean if I apply I will get one of those cards?

Thank you!

I don't think it a sure thing. They are simply suggesting you to apply. IMO: it can go either way. Best of luck!

Meg.

Definitely not a sure thing. Those are merely suggestions and the outcome could go either way.

I'm with you - was wondering if it meant a pre-approval (since their preapproval process is touted on several sites, you can check without a hard inquiry!). But it didn't work for me either.

Troublesome, considering I have a Capital One card now that they bought out HBSC. I'm slightly alarmed at that message that says they can't match my records.

Have you opted out? I don't think pre-approval sites work if you have opted out of offers of credit.

Re: Capital One Card What does this mean?

I believe this merely means "matching you with our preapproved list", not that they don't have any record of you!
