I have been reading a lot about this card for average credit and for excellent credit. I received this card and they pulled a 626 EQ Fico. I have been under the impression I have the card for average credit. My APR is 14.9% Im guessing I have the card for excellent credit? Im not sure, anyone have any info abt this card and CLI?
lol..thakns for bringing me back to earth...
Average: $39 annual fee, 17.9% - 22.9% APR, limit under $5,000
Excellent: $0 annual fee, 12.9% - 20.0% APR, possibility of a limit of more than $5,000 (since they show a picture of a World MasterCard)
Check to see if there's a annual fee posted first and foremost...
Even Cap 1 reps do not know the difference between the two. Last summer I called for a CLI on my Plat MC. The did not give me an increase, but instead changed my card to a Cash Rewards card. At the time, the only info on Cap 1's website about this card said that the card was for people with Excellent credit, which I certainly did not have. My APR dropped to 14% for sevral months - and I had no annual fee, but I have NEVER had an annual fee on any of my Cap 1 cards. For months I called Cap 1 to try to find out what this new card was about, and people had no idea - many thought I had an excellent credit card - The problem was that this particular card also had a $3000 max CL. The Cash Rewards card for average credit was not on their site, yet. It did not show up for a few months after I got my card, actually.
I now know that my card is for average credit - but it does have some features of the Excellent credit card - but not the most important feature, that of a minimum CL of $5000.

So this card has a max CL of $5k?
My card has a max of $3000 - I have an extra $350 due to an error Cap 1 made a year and a half ago on many people's account, but the card I have has a max CL of $3000, just like the Platinum MC had. This card simply replaced that card, but at the time, it was so new - few Cap 1 CSR knew anything about it.
My understanding is that the one for Excellent credit starts at $5000 and carries a few more benefits as wel.

@Anonymous may be true perhaps the excellent credit one only comes in visa signature I have the particular card @ 5200
That or a World MasterCard...if your limit is $5000 or more that's what you'll probably get.
