@Anonymous wrote:Another Capital One CLI related question: Do they only give up $500 increment CLI's or have people received more than that? I typically only seem to hear about $500. I also wonder if it matters with the type of card... Platinum, QuickSilver, etc.
I have a Platinum Card ($2K SL) and they said they would increase it by $500 in 5 months. However, as soon as my 5th statement cut they gave me 2k increase. In November I plan on hitting the LUV button in hopes I get a nice boost for Christmas

Nice! I just recently got my card upgraded from a Platinum to a QS (just days ago) and it's also been 6-7 months since my last CLI ($500) so I'm hoping I get another one real soon and that it's possibly more than $500 since the card is different now. My credit score has gone up about 30 points over that time and my utilization is down about 20% (always less than 10% on the Cap One) so I'm optimistic on my next CLI.

Cap1 likes heavy usage and large payments, so the amount of the CLIs depends on that, as well as the type of card, your credit profile, and your income. Through the love button I've received anywhere between 1k-3k (or 0), depending on which card. I have also received a 4k auto increase before.
Cap 1 gave me a CLI of 8k today on a Quicksilver (has not cut 3rd statement) & they also allowed me to finally convert a year old QS1 to a standard Quicksilver. They only offered a 400 CLI on my venture one (has not cut 3rd statement) though. I declined that one.
Got a call back from the EO today, I'm assuming from the email I sent 2 days ago but it could also be because I reached out on FB and someone said they'd call me back as well. "Kim" was very pleasant on the phone and at least 3 times thanked me for reaching out to them and giving them an opportunity to serve me. She said that because the system kept kicking back a "credit bureau information missing or unavailable" message that she was submitting a manual review for a possible CLI. She asked some basic questions: income, employment, rent/own home, mortgage payment, what I think I could get for my house if I sold it tomorrow, etc. And then, the important question was "what credit limit would best suit your needs, and if we are unable to provide that limit would you accept a lower increase?" My CL now is $3500, so I asked for $10k. Not sure if I was being to aggressive there or what since my only CLI has been $500 so far on the account, but I figured the worse case is they counter and I still get something. Anyway, she said within 4-5 days max I should see an increase on my account (assuming I get SOMETHING), possibly sooner so to keep checking online. We'll see what I get in a few days I hope!

No, I have a retail store credit that I'm paying off, the balance was previously 2870.00 now it is down to 2,548.00 of 3.000 line of credit. That account is also in very good standing. My balance on my capital one is now 1377.00 with available credit of 122.50. I'm paying twice a month on this card so that I can get the balance lower faster.
Your scores are low becasue of your utilization. Once you get down below 20-30% you will see a boost in your score.
Not to hijack this thread but is it better to talk to someone on the phone or use the love button on their website? I will be hitting my 2nd statement soon and waiting patiently until the 70th day before I contact them.

Most people say that you get the same results either way.
Personally, I've always just used the website... it just seems more efficient to me.  Using the website also gives me a chance to confirm when my last CLI was.  ![]()
