Capital One Platinum CLI question

So, I just went onto my capital one platinum account to ask for a CLI. They have changed it up a bit. Usually you would put in your income, mortgage, etc and submit. They would come back with what they were willing to give and you either accept or decline.

Now, it asks for the same things, income, mortgage, employment, but now they want to know how much you spend monthly on all of you

cards combined and how much you will spend on this particular card monthly, and you can put in your own requested amount. I have5 other cards ranging credit lines from $$3900 to $30,000.

Not quite sure how to answer the spending amounts or much much i should request? Not sure what they are looking for exactly. My CL right now is $1000. It's been like that for quite awhile now. All my cards in excellent standing, zero late payments, credit scores 730s, income 130k.

Anyone have any insight on this or best way to answer these spending questions/how much to request?

Thank you for any help!

Re: Capital One Platinum CLI question

I just requested a CLI on my Venture yesterday and noticed these changes. I put a fairly low amount for spend in relation to my total CLs, and I put my requested limit at $3000 more than my current limit on the Venture. Got the 2-3 day message. Smiley Happy

Irregardless of your income, the Platinum card is normally bracketed to where your profile was when you got it. Its a starter card so i wouldnt expect a great deal of cli on it. Best bet is to continue up tge chain of Cap One xards to get better cli especially if you spend alot, which they likeSmiley Wink

Re: Capital One Platinum CLI question

This is what I thought. So Im just going to leave it alone. Instead I just added my daughter as an authorized user to help out her credit and let her use it from time to time since I dont bother with it much with such a low CL. She is extremely responsible so this will be a good move for her. Thanks guys! Appreciate the help! :-)

Re: Capital One Platinum CLI question

I signed in to Cap 1 for my weekly CLI request on my QS thats been at 1000 since I PC'd from Platinum. They always offer a 100 increase and I always decline.  When I saw this new setup this morning I was super excited there may be change a come.  FIgured I'd shoot through the moon and ask for 20000 they countered with 100 Smiley Sad........ So is Cap 1 life

Re: Capital One Platinum CLI question

I hear ya! It's ALWAYS $100! And I always decline as well. Eh, it was a $300 starter card that jumpstarted my credit to where it is today so suppose I cannot complain much. Now if I could get an increase from my Freedom card that would be great. It started at $4500 and has been there since it opened, about a year and a half ago. But i think A. It's a hard pull and B. you cannot do it online from what I can see. Ahh good times all around lol

Have you asked for a PC? It seems a QS should be available to you by now.

Do you think we should accept the 100 CLI? Might that start the CLI train?

I get so nervous calling lol.  I'm pretty sure I PC'd through an online chat.  I just asked if any other products were available to me.
